Leena Kibriya has returned from her academic trip to the US where she visited the University of Washington and the University of California at Berkeley. In Washington she was hosted by Prof Richard Wiebe and liaised with other members of his team working on rocking structrures. Besides, she delivered a seminar about her work on the non-linear dynamics of rocking steel frames. At Berkeley she attended a series of shaking table tests on re-centering bridge piers lead by Prof Jose Restrepo (UCSD) at the PEER Richmond Field Station (picture on the left by courtesy).
