Course overview

This C1-level course sets out to enhance your knowledge and understanding of French through the lens of humour. It aims to build your confidence in understanding both written documents and fast-paced, colloquial French, as it is actually spoken in France. To do this, the course focuses on humour in French language and culture, using a variety of media such as newspaper articles, stand-up comedy videos and radio segments to explore the language. You will also study selected chapters of a contemporary novel whose plot revolves around humour.

The sessions are intended to be engaging, confidence-building and inclusive, allowing you to develop language skills in a supportive group environment, but at your own pace.
