Who is this course for?

This course is designed for people who have completed 40 hours study on the Imperial after:hours French 3 (Higher Elementary) course, or who have an equivalent level of proficiency (A2/GCSE).

Course overview

This course is a continuation course, on further developing speaking, listening, and reading skills, particularly emphasising oral proficiency. The aim is to further  improve your understanding and speaking proficiency in everyday French.

On the course we will practice and extend previously-learned grammar, through interactive activities such as role-play, pair work and group exercises, and and work on deepening our confidence in expressing ideas and interacting with other people in French-speaking environments.

Building practical confidence in a supportive environment

In addition to conversation and grammatical practice, this course will allow you to learn extensive vocabulary and expressions through authentic texts, audio resources and real-life scenarios. These will help you engage in conversation, improve your pronunciation and broaden your language skills.

The sessions are intended to be engaging, confidence-building, and inclusive, allowing participants to develop language skills at their own pace.

Term dates

•  Summer Term: week beginning 27 April 2026 until week ending 17 July 2026 (no class on Bank Holiday Mondays)
