Who is this course for?
This course is aimed at students who have completed our Italian 2 (Pre-Intermediate) or Italian 3 (Intermediate) evening course or have studied the language for about two to three years recently or have an equivalent level of proficiency. If you have any questions as to whether this course is suitable for you please contact the course tutor pre-enrolment.
Course overview
We invite you to join our friendly group of people brought together in the lunch hour once a week to practice our Italian by talking about issues of current affairs.
In these sessions we read and discuss articles from newspapers, websites and other news sources, and even interpret novels and song lyrics with a view to improving our fluency in Italian vocabulary and grammar. The course also helps to improve our confidence in speaking Italian, develop more accuracy and fluency in the language, and it gives us an opportunity to discuss a variety of topics in Italian learning new words and idiomatic phrases to express our ideas.
The main focus of this course is to improve speaking and listening skills, but it inevitably also helps with our reading and writing in Italian. It helps to improve our grammatical knowledge and our ability to understand more complex and abstract reading.
By the end of the course, you will be ready to advance to our 40-hour Italian 3 (Intermediate) course which is due to start in the autumn. So why not join us?
