Japanese Post-Beginners - Extension

Who is this course for?

This one-term extension course is designed for those who have completed the two-term Japanese 2 (Post-Beginners) course at Imperial, or those who have studied Japanese elsewhere between 80-100 hours (or equivalent). To start this course, you should already be able to use Hiragana and Katakana both in reading and writing as well as having knowledge of the 'te-form' conjugations and the related basic expressions.

Course overview

On the course we will emphasise practical communication skills, using role play, pair work and conversation practice, to extend your knowledge, understanding and confidence in using Japanese.

This course teaches to a set class text book, details of which will be given by the tutor.

•  Summer Term: week beginning 27 April 2026 until week ending 3 July 2026
