Course overview

Do you have a story to tell? This one-day creative writing workshop offers the perfect opportunity to explore your ideas and take the first steps — or further steps — in bringing them to life'.

Designed for writers of all levels — from complete beginners to those looking to refresh or extend their skills — this study day offers a stimulating mix of discussion, practical exercises, and inspiration. Under the guidance of an experienced tutor, the writer Martin Ouvry, you’ll experiment with different forms of writing, discover ways to develop your characters and settings, and explore techniques that help transform ideas into compelling narratives.

Throughout the day, we’ll draw on examples from great works of fiction and memoir to spark your imagination. You’ll be encouraged to try out new approaches in a friendly, supportive environment where constructive feedback is offered with care.

Whether you’re joining us from an existing creative writing course or this is your first time picking up a pen, this day of discovery is for you. Come and find your voice, connect with other aspiring writers, and leave with fresh ideas and renewed confidence.

No previous experience is necessary — just bring your enthusiasm and curiosity.
