Who is this course for?
The course is suitable for complete beginners with no prior knowledge of Italian.
Course overview
The course focuses on the spoken language and aims to equip you with the skills needed for everyday situations in an Italian-speaking environment. You will learn how to introduce yourself and others, describe your home and daily activities, shop for and order food and drink, make travel arrangements, ask questions, make simple descriptions, express opinions, and acquire a good basic vocabulary.
Although we will introduce you to reading and writing Italian, the emphasis is on listening and speaking skills to get you started in learning Italian. The course also introduces aspects of Italian culture and daily life to provide context to the language learning process.
Advice on the correct textbook to purchase will be given in the first class.
