This year, the German alumni association will visit Milan for a weekend of intellectual engagement consisting of talks, debates, and networking with like-minded alumni. The weekend will provide a chance to explore the sights and tastes of Milan, with drinks, meals and excursions.

The theme for this year’s conference is “Sustainability in the 21st century – we are discovering cancer therapies, so what are the future health threats?” The first part of the conference will be spent discussing recent cancer therapies, such as harnessing the body’s own immune system to combat cancer. The second part aims to give an insight into the health threats of future, and their possible solutions.

The association are honoured to be hosting the following keynote speakers:

  • Dr Hatice Gungor, Clinical Research Fellow in the Department of Surgery and Cancer, Imperial College London.
  • Dr Tim Rawson, Clinical Research Fellow in the Department of Medicine and a member of Imperial’s Antimicrobial Research Collective.
  • Professor Giuseppe Curigliano, Director of New Drugs and Early Drug Development for Innovative Therapies Division, IEO European Institute of Oncology.
