Thanks in part to the efforts of Gary Elfstrom (PhD Aeronautics 1971), we are working to identify and bring together the group of Imperial alumni who received an Athlone Fellowship.
Gary says, “The Athlone Fellowship program generously provided an amazing opportunity for graduate Canadian engineers fresh out of school to work and study abroad. Completing my award at Imperial and staying on to complete my PhD gave me professionally some of the best years of my career. I would like to celebrate this memory with other like-minded Athlones while we are still able to do so.”
You may be aware that Imperial’s President Gast will be visiting Toronto on 27 July. She will be hosting a reception for alumni and friends of the College that evening and will also host a a small gathering for Athlone Fellows immediately prior at the same venue, the Terrace Room of the Gardiner Museum.
