 Imperial’s Department of Bioengineering is the leading Department of Bioengineering in the UK. Researchers in the Department apply engineering principles to solve problems in medicine and biology.

 In this behind the scenes event visitors will gain an insight into how engineering is applied a) to solve clinical problems such as osteoarthritis through motion sensor and other technologies and b) to better understand and treat people following blast injuries in the Royal British Legion Centre for Blast Injury Studies. 

The timetable for this Behind-the-scenes is as follows:

18.00 – 18.15 Members arrivals / Welcome at Royal School of Mines, South Kensington Campus, Imperial College London, location 10 on the map here

 18.15 – 18.45 Welcome from Dr Angela Kedgley.  Introduction to the Department of Bioengineering and research in orthopaedic biomechanics.

18.45 –19.45 Member tour, viewing and demos by researchers

 19.45 -20.30 Refreshments and continued discussions.

 You need to be aware that there is very limited seating throughout the event.
