Abstract
Water is a part and parcel of all aspects of human existence. It is not only a biological need of human beings but also it is an integral part of most of environmental processes and human activities. The growing global water scarcity and interdependence among water-sharing countries have created tensions over shared water resources around the world. Therefore, interest in studying transboundary water management has grown over the last decades.
This seminar will explore some of the existing key transboundary water management institutions to determine the sources of pressures that challenge these institutions and identify how resilient institutions have been able to adapt to these accordingly. Consequently, the relation between the transboundary water conflict resolution process and the sources of resilience of the resulting management institution will be identified.
