Aimed at girls, this FREE event seeks to celebrate the women who work in different areas across the College and to understand more about careers in STEM and STEM-related areas. There will be drop in hands-on science activities and interactive fun to stimulate and inspire at the main entrance. There is also a chance to listen to a demo lecture by Professor Joanna Haigh CBE FRS and attend a STEM career talk by one of our academics.

Please note the following:

  • This event is aimed at Girls in years 9 & 10 (aged 13 to 15).
  • Attendees will have the option to attend just the activities + main demo lecture from the programme below, or to also sign up for a career talk at 13:15-14:00, however attendees must sign up to the full programme for the day in order to attend the career talk. Please choose the career talk you’d like to register for in advance by clicking the relevant registration link in the programme below.
  • Schools are kindly asked to have one staff member register the whole group where possible (you can still register for different career talks)

The programme for the day is:

– 10:30-11:30: Hands-on science activities (in the College main entrance)- please note if you choose the Chemical Engineer career talk, then the hands-on activities will not be part of your programme
– 11:30-12:30: Demo Lecture: ‘The Science of Climate Change’ by Professor Joanna Haigh- please book here for the lecture only
– 12:30-13:00: Break for lunch
– 13:15-14:00: Option to sign up to one of the following career talks (locations TBC):
