This seminar will highlight some recent progress in seasonal to decadal climate prediction. Topics covered will include: predicting European winters a year ahead; multi-year predictions of Sahel rainfall; the impact of Arctic sea ice on the mid-latitude atmospheric circulation; and the role of aerosols in the recent slowdown in global surface warming.
