The last drop, humankind post oil and gas

Dr Issam Wadi will discuss the impact of a post-oil and gas world on over 40 aspects of our life including food, water, aviation, shipping, economy, textile, cars, arms, medical, social , urban planning, geopolitics, electronics, computers, plastics, ecosystem and much more.

This talk will cover many subjects including new technologies, alternatives and the need of a global, collective and comprehensive plans by all countries, to reduce some of the catastrophic impacts.

Biography

Dr Issam Wadi is the Director of the Trust Group with a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Ain Shams University in Egypt, a Postgraduate Degree from the University of Wisconsin, and a PhD in Engineering from the University of Strathclyde. He holds several patents and inventions in UK and USA.

His career spans 35 years across the power, oil & gas and chemical industries. Starting as an engineer he quickly progressed to senior leadership and management positions. Dr. Wadi was instrumental in building, operating and managing major industrial plants in the Oil and Gas sector, leading Engineering and Technical Services divisions in major oil companies covering refining, Gas processing, Petrochemicals and hydrocarbon transportation.

He was deeply involved in the privatization studies of the Abu Dhabi Power and Water sectors and served as a member of the Petroleum Institute founding committee and the Abu Dhabi Polymers co (Borouge) founding committee. Dr. Wadi was involved in different capacities in various companies in Europe, Middle East and Asia, in areas related to automation, IT and manufacturing.

Dr. Wadi has published several papers and articles at industry conferences and in international industry journals including Oil & Gas Journal, Hydrocarbon processing Magazine, InTech and various other publications

Venue

The talk will be held in Room 611 of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (building 16 on the campus map). The room is known as the Gabor Suite. The room is on the 6th floor of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Building.
