I will overview recent studies of one-layer and two-layer Quasi-Geostrophic models in turbulent regimes. This will include linear and nonlinear evolutions of instability of a single Rossby wave (strong or weak), predictions of the anisotropic turbulent cascades in wave-dominated regimes, generation of zonal jets, feedback of the zonal jets on turbulence and suppression the small scales.
