Speakers

  • Professor Terry Lyons FRS, Director of the Oxford-Mann Institute of Quantitative Finance and President of the London Mathematical Society, on the application of mathematical and scientific concepts to financial market analysis.
  • Mr Rudi Bogni, CSFI, will talk about the Black–Scholes model. 
  • Ayowande McCunn of New College Oxford will talk on game theory and regulation.
  • Dr Ni Hao from the Oxford Mathematical Institute will talk about algorithmic trading, high frequency trading, the post 2008 financial crisis, flash crashes.
  • Dr Jonathan Read, Ph.D. in Physics, former Junior Research Fellow, St. John’s College, Cambridge, Financial Analyst at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, London Business School, recently appointed Professor at the University of Luxembourg and Chairman, Kensington and Chelsea Credit Union will talk about the misuse of mathematical modelling and moral hazard.
  • Professor Charles Goodhart, CBE FBA LSE former Member of the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee, Monetary Economist and author of Goodhart’s Law.
  • David Stanton CBE formerly Chief Economist Department of Work and Pensions and Department of Employment.
  • Professor David B Smith, University of Derby, monetary economist, econometrician and economic forecaster will provide an economic and financial perspective.
