Formula E is a groundbreaking FIA single-seater championship and the world’s first fully-electric racing series.
Racing around the heart of iconic global cities including London, Paris, Beijing and Moscow, the exciting series is designed to appeal to a new generation of motorsport fans.The electric championship represents a vision for the future of the motor industry, serving as a framework for R&D around the electric vehicle and sustainable innovation, while accelerating general interest in EVs and promoting clean energy and sustainability.Launched as a mere concept in 2012, the series has grown into a fully-fledged championship in just two years, drawing some of the world’s biggest names in racing and engineering to the project including Williams and McLaren.
After a successful first season that culminated with two races in London’s Battersea Park, the championship kicks off the second series having opened up the regulations to inspire electric powertrain development. Seven new manufacturers have thrown their hat into the ring – including Renault and DS.
