Dr Boulter is an early career researcher, his key interests are in: cell signalling, tissue repair and remodelling and in the role of macrophages in health and disease. Below is an extract from his webpage:
Throughout life tissues must undergo multiple waves of signalling to properly co-ordinate their growth and repair. Many of the same signals are co-opted to support the development and growth of cancer; however how a highly regulated multi-cellular system moves from favouring ordered growth to becoming permissive to, or even promoting carcinogenesis is not known. My lab uses the liver as a tractable model of tissue growth, chronic disease and regeneration as well as cancer.
