About the programme

The programme will run from 20th-24th July 2015 and will offer a variety of experiences across science and engineering, including organic and inorganic chemistry, metallurgy and nanomaterials science. You will spend three whole days with different academics and researchers across the Departments and gain a real feel for the research undertaken in different types of working laboratories.

Across the week you will:

· meet a Head of Department during your ‘Welcome to the Department’

· have a Q&A session with current UG students from the Departments

· have a Health & Safety briefing

· shadow researchers from different laboratories in up to two different Faculty departments

· be assigned to a PhD student so that you know where to be at all times and who will field your questions over lunch breaks

· present your experiences to the department at the end of the week

· receive a certificate at the end of the week

Programme requirements

Please note that the Work Experience Programme is aimed at Year 12 students only and that unfortunately accommodation cannot be provided. By applying for a place on this programme, you are confirming that you are able to commute to Imperial College London’s South Kensington Campus on all five days of the programme.
