There will be a special seminar on Tuesday March 17, at 5pm-6pm, in room 658 of Huxley building, Imperial College London, by Kiran Kedlaya (UCSD).
Relative (phi, Gamma)-modules
The usual theory of (phi, Gamma)-modules provides an alternate description of the category of representations of a p-adic Galois group on a p-adic vector space. The theory of relative (phi, Gamma)-modules provides a similar description of representations of the etale fundamental group of a rigid analytic space. These objects are most naturally described in the language of perfectoid spaces, and can be used for example to establish a finiteness theorem for the etale cohomology of a Q_p-local system on a smooth proper rigid space over a p-adic field. Joint work with Ruochuan Liu (Beijing).
