Course structure

Students will have the option of studying one of six subject strands in an engaging and high achieving academic environment, whilst experiencing a taste of university life during the day and evening. Each subject strand has been created to give a taste of the subject at Imperial College London and is designed to stretch the capability of every student on the course. The workshops feature a series of practical investigations provided by College staff, supported by current undergraduate mentors. All subject content is aimed at Level 1 undergraduate standard and teaching is provided in the same style as it is to university undergraduates. In addition, College staff will be present to provide information and guidance and answer questions regarding the University applications process and finances.

We would like students to gain as much as they can from our summer school, so we ask our applicants to be enthusiastic about their subject, ready for a challenge and willing to work hard.

Students will stay in en-suite rooms in secure Imperial College Halls of Residence and full catering is provided throughout the summer school. Students’ accommodation is situated adjacent to the main South Kensington Campus, and students will take part in a varied programme of social activities, enabling them to get to know each other and our summer school mentor team.
