Find out what we’re really made of!
The beginning of human life is something that has fascinated us throughout science discovery.
Come and join us on an exciting journey down the microscope as Professor Winston, assisted by his colleague Dr Sheba Jarvis, explores the very first few hours of human life.
Through live demonstrations, you will have the chance to witness the mysteries of how egg and sperm meet and their perilous journey to establish a unique person.
Professor Winston will be answering questions such as:
- How do our cells divide to make us who we are?
- How are we different from other animals?
- Why is each of us genetically different?
- Why does the ageing process start the moment we are conceived?
The lecture will be followed by drinks and mince pies.
All are welcome and attendance is free, but advance booking is required. Please email l.hale@imperial.ac.uk to register for tickets. We can offer a maximum of 30 seats per school.
