About the Consort Club

The Consort Club was set up many years ago (over 50 years ago but the details are lost in the mists of time) to foster relations between Imperial College London, the Royal College of Art and the Royal College of Music.

The Club meets each term, with the spring term meeting being held at the Royal College of Music which consists of a music concert featuring a lecture on a specific composer and a performance by various students from the College. The summer meeting is held at the Royal College of Art and features a private view of the Summer Show.  The autumn meeting is at Imperial College London which hosts a lecture by a distinguished speaker.

Abstract

Our speaker this year is Professor Anthony Bull, Head of the Department of Bioengineering, who leads a centre that seeks to understand blast injuries and use this to protect and better treat those exposed to blast.

His talk will focus on the unique opportunities and outcomes that can only be realised through effective interdisciplinary collaboration.. across disciplines (science, engineering, medicine, design) and domains (military, civilian).
