The ideal genome analysis technology would map or sequence DNA from one end of a chromosome to the other and detect DNA methylation as well as sequence. Towards this goal, I will describe new single molecule mapping and sequencing technologies requiring zero sample preparation, that are implemented on individual ultra-long genomic DNA molecules in nanofluidic devices.
