The Colt Foundation Research Meeting highlights the work being carried out in the Defence Medical Services.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Air Chief Marshal Sir Peach, Vice Chief of the Defence Staff – ‘Military medicine: The vital enabler’
  • Surgeon Commodore Alasdair Walker and Brigadier Tim Hodgetts, Joint Medical Command: The future direction of military medical research
  • Professor Anthony Bull, Centre of Blast Injury Studies: Trauma Research Opportunities arising from the Afghanistan experience
  • Professor Colonel Jon Clasper, Centre of Blast Injury Studies: Orthopaedic Lessons learnt from casualties in Afghanistan

The meeting concludes with the Colt Research Prize which provides six finalists to present their current research from any aspect of Military Medicine.  This meeting is of interest to any member of the Defence Medical Services or the wider medical circle with an interest in research, regardless of their sub-speciality.
