We are pleased to announce the launch of the Family Business Club on Wednesday 23 October at 18.00 in LT1, Tanaka Building. The aim of the club is to create a network of family business members from around the world who can learn from each other and external family business experts. The club will be relevant both to those students and alumni who are already working for, or plan to work for, their own family businesses, as well aspiring consultants to family businesses.
The launch event will comprise a brief introduction from Professor Mike Wright (Head of the Business School’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group), followed by a presentation from family business consultant, Peter Leach, on the “Special Challenges and Features of Family Businesses around the World.” The presentation will cover the following topics:
- The importance of family businesses around the world
- Family business theory – why family businesses are different
- Common challenges faced by family businesses
- Managing the complexity of family businesses in practice.
