2D Coulomb ensembles.
Abstract: We discuss point processes given by the Gibbs distribution for repelling particles by Coulomb interaction in the plane, kept in place by a confining potential. In the appropriate scaling limit, the point ensembles tend deterministically to the equilibrium measure.We then discuss the next level of field approximation involving the stochastic limit of the fluctuations.
