On July 23rd 2013, Dr Simon Foster from Imperial College London presented to pupils about the history of rocket science. Dr Simon Foster acts as the Outreach Officer in the Physics Department at Imperial College London. He is a qualified rocket scientist and his research focuses on Solar-terrestrial Physics, specialising in solar variability and climate change. 

Simon visited the Dartford Science and Technology College to give a series of talks to KS3 and KS4 pupils about the history of rocket science, investigating, in a hands-on way, the science behind launching rockets and getting satellites into orbits. Simon explored the issues surrounding manned space flight and getting a glimpse of futuristic rocket engines.

By the end of the talk the audience could call themselves rocket scientists!
