On 23rd April 2013, Dr Simon Foster from the Physics Department at Imperial College London, presented to students in years 7 – 9 at Highbury Grove School to give a series of hands-on talks to pupils.
Simon presented to the students about the history of rocket science, investigating the science behind launching rockets, getting satellites into orbits, the issues surrounding manned space flight and getting a glimpse of futuristic rocket engines.
Dr Simon Foster acts as the Outreach Officer in the Physics Department at Imperial College London. He is a qualified rocket scientist and his research focuses on Solar-terrestrial Physics, specialising in solar variability and climate change.
By the end of Simon’s talk at Highbury Grove School, the audience could all call themselves rocket scientists!
