On February 25th, Dr Simon Foster from Imperial College London, presented to primary school teachers at the Keeping the Spark Alive conference.
The event entitled ‘Keeping the Spark Alive’ was organised by Babcock 4S Primary Science Team and was aimed at primary teachers in South East England. Approximately 150 primary school teachers attended the event, to gain ideas about delivering exciting science lessons in school.
Dr Foster said: “primary school teachers often find teaching the topic of ‘Earth and Space’ difficult and I hope the training day helped to overcome these difficulties.”
Dr Simon Foster, the outreach officer in the physics department at Imperial College London, ran a session at the conference. Simon gave the teachers a lot of exciting and interesting ideas, demonstrations and activities for the teachers to conduct with their pupils.
Following the session, one of the teachers said: “I have taken back lots of ideas to use at school.”
