‘Choosing entrepreneurship as a career’
Our first talk sees travel industry veteran Dinesh Dhamija discuss his long career as an entrepreneur. Dinesh was the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Ebookers.com, the UK’s first interactive online travel agency. A law graduate, Dinesh started in the industry in 1983 with a travel kiosk in London. He was one of the first entrepreneurs to move into the online space in the 1990s and he rode the wave of the dotcom boom, selling Ebookers in 2002.
Dinesh was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year in the UK in 2003 and in 2006, he graduated from the President’s Programme in Leadership at Harvard Business School. He is currently Chairman of the Copper Beech Group, which manages investments in education, ecotourism and real estate in India and Romania.
