Aim of the workshop
The purpose of this professional development workshop is not just to remind delegates of good public speaking but to focus specifically on a speaker’s ability to motivate an audience, particularly an audience that might not be initially receptive to a message. Conducted within a supportive and encouraging environment, this one-day workshop will focus on the following:
- Examining the basics of good public speaking, for example good use of voice, words, body language and props
- Constructing a speech that will motivate an audience
- Answering challenging questions from an audience
- Sharpening public speaking skills, particularly in front of an audience that might not be receptive to an ideal
- Evaluating others
- Impromptu speaking
- Being a Toastmaster / Master of Ceremony
Feedback will be given throughout the session and, at the end of the day, delegates will be filmed. Further, a comprehensive booklet that delves deeper into the art of communication and speaking in public will be given to each delegate.
