Title: Inductive Logic Programming: Recent Advances and Applications

Speaker:

Dr Alessandra Russo

Abstract:

Inductive Logic Programming (ILP) is a well-established area of Machine Learning that studies the task of learning from observations in the context of logic programming. In this talk I will present recent advances in ILP that (i) address and resolve existing incompleteness of the bottom set computation method for the inverse entailment principle, (ii) provide new ILP algorithms and systems and (iii) tackle the open problem of learning normal logic programs. I will conclude with a brief summary of new applications of ILP to software engineering that have been inspired and made possible by this work.
