Lecture: “The continuing legacy of the Radium Girls” given by guest speaker Professor Robert Souhami CBE

Professor Souhami’s talk will expand on the legacy of girls in the 1920s who painted clock and watch dials, their subsequent exposure to radium and the illnesses they developed.

 Presentation of 2010-11 Faculty of Medicine Fellowships to:

  • Professor Robert Souhami CBE, Emeritus Professor of Medicine, University College London and Foreign Secretary of The Academy of Medical Sciences.
  • Professor Averil Mansfield CBE, Emeritus Professor of Vascular Surgery, Imperial College London and Chairman of the British Medical Association Board of Science.
  • Dr Malcolm Skingle CBE, Director of External Science and Development at GSK.

Followed by a drinks and canapé reception at 7.00 p.m. in the ground floor foyer of the Sir Alexander Fleming Building.
