The aim of the competition, which is free to enter, is for teams of students to put together a case describing the greatest discovery in Chemistry in the last 100 years. Entries can take the form of a poster, model, booklet, video presentation-the choice is yours.

It is open to all students studying GCSE or A-Level Chemistry in secondary schools in the Greater London area.

After an initial judging session within the Imperial College London Chemistry Department, the top six teams will be invited to deliver a talk on the 29th February, 2012 in favour of their chosen discovery at Imperial College London, in front of a live audience.

The winners will be selected by a guest panel on the day and will receive an iPad each as well as a trip to visit a world leading large scale research facility. The panel will include the BBC Broadcaster and Imperial College London Professor of Science and Society Sir Robert Winston.

Schools must register their intent to compete by 2nd December 2011, with the submission of their entry by January 13th 2012.
