Roland will cover the rise of open business models and describe how companies such as LEGO, Procter and Gamble, and E.ON are embracing a more collaborative approach to innovation. In this interactive session he will share first hand experience of the technical and cultural challenges of designing and running productive communities, both internally and externally, in an increasingly networked world.
Roland is co-founder of 100%Open, the open innovation agency, that works with the likes of LEGO, Orange, P&G and Oxfam to co-create new products and services with their partners. Prior to that he was Director of Open Innovation at NESTA. Graduating with a PhD in Physics from Edinburgh University, he has held senior innovation roles in the Utilities and Media industries and in addition has worked with 100′s of start-ups to raise venture capital and commercialise technology. In addition he has worked as a TV and film music producer for SonyBMG.
