Aim of workshop
This workshop is aimed at entrepreneurs, small businesses and those of you who are interested in learning how to enhance your personal brand and leverage social media to help grow your business.
Outline of workshop
Elaine Hewens, Managing Director at The Fit Consultancy, and Jed Erlichman, Digital marketing and communications expert, will lead the workshop. They will look at the changing marketing and communications landscape and examine case studies of entrepreneurs and businesses that have developed successful digital strategies.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have developed an understanding of:
- How to develop a strategic approach to the digital channels
- Successfully covering the basics – including setting up your website, search engine optimisation, display advertising and developing your public relations plan
- Leveraging social media for networking, sales, PR and marketing.
Participants will also be shown how to develop an action plan tool-kit.
There will be plenty of time for interaction and asking questions.
A networking reception will be held afterwards to facilitate the exchange of information between delegates and the workshop leaders.

Workshop leaders
Jed Erlichman: Digital marketing & communications expert
Jed Erlichman has 20 years’ experience in marketing and PR and has held senior roles at international marketing agencies both in the US and the UK, including Senior Vice President at McCann Worldgroup (the third largest global agency) and Client Partner at Scient (now Razorfish & LBi), (UK’s largest digital agency).
He is currently Managing Director of Nativo, established in 2009 to provide integrated marketing solutions for large and small businesses and with a particular orientation towards solutions that leverage digital marketing.
Jed’s client experience includes British Airways, Bombardier, Computer Associates, Dell, Discover Card, Intel, Microsoft, Lloyds TSB, Phillip Morris, the US Army and many small and medium sized businesses.
He leads teams that were awarded the 2009 Jay Chiat Gold Medal Award for Strategic Excellence and 2009 Effie Award for Brand Experience – U.S. Army XBOX – HALO 3, and Dell’s International Marketing Excellence Award (2008).

Elaine Hewens supports individuals and businesses to develop people-focused strategies to gain a highly competitive edge. She initiated and drove strategic start-up interactive projects with national accounts during dotcom boom and has delivered projects with companies including Coca Cola, Boots, MET Police, NW Fire Brigade, HMV Waterstones, Specific Media and Venda E Commerce.
Elaine has 25 years’ experience of human capital including senior HR roles with Kimberly Clark, Smith & Nephew, Monster and Warwick Business School. A strong believer in creating and managing a personal brand, Elaine is an experienced business and career coach to MBA students.
