How to develop ideas into beneficial new technology
Two Imperial Inventors share their experience of commercialising products for the healthcare sector.
An Imperial Innovations technology expert will also talk about how to bring ideas to market, the benefits of commercialisation and how Imperial Innovations can help.
Speakers:
David Wood is the Garfield Weston Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the NHLI and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist to the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Together with his academic team he founded My Action, an Imperial spin-out company providing cardiovascular disease prevention programmes to patients, and of which he is a Non-Executive Director.
Hugh Penfold, Deputy Director Technology Transfer, Imperial Innovations.
Andrew Amis is Professor of Orthopaedic Biomechanics with a joint appointment in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Orthopaedic Surgery group of the Division of Surgery. He has been a prolific inventor in the orthopaedic surgery field, including artificial joints. Some of these inventions have been patented, and licensed to companies for commercial development.
