Friends of Imperial College is collaborating with the Office of Alumni and Development on the launch of a scheme to build up the endowment assets of the College through investing in Imperial Innovations, and consigning a proportion of the increase in share value to the College at the time of sale.

To launch this initiative a special event will be taking place on on Monday 30 November 2009 at 18.30 in the Imperial College Incubator, Level Two, Bessemer Building, South Kensington Campus.
During the course of the evening Susan Searle, Chief Executive Officer of Imperial Innovations Group plc, will speak about the progress that has been made since Imperial Innovations was floated on the London Stock Exchange by JPMorgan Cazenove in July 2006. Imperial Innovations is owned by a 52 per cent share by the College and its business is essentially to exploit intellectual property emanating from the College. Imperial Innovation’s full year results were announced on 7 October 2009.
Following Susan Searle’s introduction John Anderson, Chief Executive Officer of the College Fund, will describe the steps which Imperial College is undertaking to build its Endowment Fund. This will be followed by a presentation by Judy Beard, Director of Development and Alumni Relations at Imperial College who will outline the proposed collaboration between Friends of Imperial College and the Office of Alumni and Development.
A number of the Directors of Imperial Innovation’s spin our companies will also present during the evening to speak about their companies in a session chaired by Martin Knight, Chief Operating Officer of the College and Chairman of Imperial Innovations. A drinks reception will follow.
