Matteo Berlucchi, co-founder and CEO, Skinkers and Mark Stimson, CTO, Skinkers, presents this lecture as part of the Internet Centre Seminar Series on; “Innovations in Broadcast over IP and Online Push Technology at Skinkers.”
Abstract: Skinkers is a leader in online push technology, with several innovative initiatives, including the Live Notification Platform, an advanced multi-channel push communication solution for enterprises and Livestation, a peer-to-peer based broadcast network over IP co-developed with Microsoft Research Cambridge. The CEO and CTO of Skinkers will present an overview of online push technology and internet broadcasting while introducing some of their company’s initiatives.

Matteo Berlucchi, co-founder and CEO, Skinkers
Matteo has been developing successful Internet projects since 1994 when he launched the first online property advertising system in Europe. Between 1998 and 1999 he was Head of Online Marketing at Hyperlink plc, the 3rd ranked web agency in the UK, where he developed strategies for many blue-chip companies. Between 1999 and 2000 he was VP Global Online Marketing for beenz.com. He then helped launch a $15m online real estate business in Italy. Matteo has a doctoral degree in Theoretical Physics from the University of Padua (Italy) and spent 3 years researching in the field of Virtual Reality at Imperial College.
Mark Stimsons, CTO, Skinkers
Mark has over 20 years experience in IT. Most recently he was Director of Professional Services at SumTotal Systems and prior to this he was Technical Director then General Manager Europe for Click2Learn. His early career was spent in various technical roles with GEC Avionics starting as software engineer and progressing to becoming a Senior Product Specialist/Systems Architect. Mark has an HND in Electronic Engineering.
