As part of the London Games Festival, Imperial will host a workshop and a public seminar on the future application of artificial intelligence in games. Always innovative, the games industry has adopted AI techniques in games but the technologies have been constrained by the limitations of the platforms. Looking to the future, we can anticipate new computing platforms, including web 2.0 based games which will enable game designers to utilise advanced AI concepts and exploit AI research.

Industry-Academic Workshop  13.00 – 18.00

The afternoon workshop will bring together AI people from the games industry with AI academics from leading research universities. We will identify the different AI research approaches that could contribute to gaming, as well as the many potential areas of application for AI in games. We will put these together into a research roadmap which can be used to identify potential collaborative project areas.

Public Seminar 18.00 – 20.00

The evening seminar will be open to the public – keynote speakers from industry and academia will discuss the challenges and possibilities for the future application of AI in games.
