Entrance, Link and Upper Gulbenkian Galleries Royal College of Art
An exhibition of industry-funded design projects from the Helen Hamlyn Research Associates Programme 2006, exploring user-centred innovation for home, work, transport and healthcare. It features work by new graduates of the Departments of Communication Art & Design, Design Products, Industrial Design Engineering, Interaction Design and Vehicle Design at the RCA. Human Frame is based on a series of collaborations with the following external partners: Audi Design Foundation, BOX: knowledge and innovation exchange at LSE, B&Q, Colebrook Bosson Saunders, DEGW, Future Foundation, Heal’s, National Patient Safety Agency, Osaka Gas, Philips, Research In Motion, Thorn Lighting and Visteon.

Lower Galleries Royal College of Art
An exhibition of work by a group of staff and research students from the Departments of Communication Art & Design, Animation and Photography at the RCA, focusing on the changing concept of the ‘frame’ as it migrates from film through to its more abstract and even mysterious fate in video and digital media. Most members of the group work in video and digital media, but film has a strong material presence as well as giving a background to new ideas in electronic arts.

Second annual meeting of the Materialise Forum, which aims to create dialogue between designers and materials scientists. Co-chaired by Professor Clare Johnston, Head of RCA Textiles, and Bernie Rickinson of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining. Keynote speakers: Ron Arad, designer, Professor of Design Products, RCA; Dr Alan Smith, nanotechnologist.

In association with The Royal Institution
Public lecture in association with the Royal Institution of Great Britain, which has celebrated science research and science communication for over 200 years.It will explore the future of design for health and patient safety. Panel speakers: Colum Lowe of the National Patient Safety Agency, Professor Roger Coleman of the RCA, author of Design For Patient Safety, and surgeon Henry Marsh.
