Conservation in action at the Natural History Museum

A spectacular immersive experience using props, specimens and interactives, the Fantastic Beasts™: The Wonder of Nature exhibition brings a touch of magic to London’s Natural History Museum, drawing parallels between the magical creatures of the wizarding world and some of the most incredible animals on our planet.

Following in the footsteps of Magizoologist Newt Scamander™ from the Fantastic Beasts films, Fantastic Beasts™: The Wonder of Nature invites visitors to go on an adventure, firstly through a magical museum to understand the tangled history of myth and legend within the real world, then by discovering real world and wizarding world beasts and observing their incredible abilities. Finally, discover how we can work together to protect them.

Working in collaboration with Warner Bros., The Blair Partnership, BBC Natural History Unit and the special effects wizards at Framestore, this exhibition has drawn upon the worlds of literature, film-making and science to create a celebration of both nature and storytelling. You can also delve into the Fantastic Beasts™: The Wonder of Naturecollection online with Google Arts & Culture, created in partnership with the Museum. Explorers will enjoy an immersive digital experience featuring highlights from the exhibition and fascinating insights from Museum scientists and curators as they investigate the details of the specimens on display. Join some of the exhibition creators and scientists to hear how they became honorary Magizoologists, studying both real and magical creatures to see the similarities between the natural world and mythology, and how modern-day storytelling can encourage us to look at nature in a new and different light.
