In this seminar, two experts will talk about new ways to investigate cardiovascular disease

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a global health burden and a leading cause of mortality and a major contributor to disability in the UK and worldwide. Within the AHSC, we are exploring new ways to better understand what causes CVD and how we can improve the treatments available and therefore patient outcomes.

In this seminar two experts will talk about their research using big data and computational approaches to understand what is happening at the organ level and also within the population.

Professor Declan O’Regan is an Medical Research Council (MRC) Investigator leading the Computational Cardiac Imaging Group and Director for Imaging Research at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT).

Dr Amit Kaura is an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow and BHF Clinical Research Fellow at the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London. He is one of the lead researchers at Imperial for the National Institute of Health Research Health Informatics Collaborative. Clinically, he is a speciality registrar in Cardiology at ICHT.
