Dr Carmel McIniery

Joint Oncology/IRDB Imperial Seminar Series, Thursday 09.09.21 @ 13.30, hosted by Professor Christoph Lees.

We are delighted to have Dr Carmel McEniery – who is a Senior Research Associate in the Division of Experimental Medicine and Immunotherapeutics, University of Cambridge, and a College Lecturer in Physiology at Churchill College, Cambridge – talking about her research interests.

Her key research interests involve the haemodynamic mechanisms of hypertension in young people, and haemodynamic adaptations to human pregnancy. Dr McEniery is the current Secretary of the British and Irish Hypertension Society and, together with Professor Lees, is one of the founding members of the International Working Group on Maternal Haemodynamics, co-organising the first of a number of successful workshops on the topic in Cambridge. Later this year, she will begin leading the cardiovascular phenotyping arm of the POPPY study – a Wellcome Trust-funded, preconception to postpartum study of cardiometabolic health in human pregnancy.
