Funkology is super excited to be presenting a vogue workshop, in honour of LGBT+ history month! We are super excited to be welcoming London’s very own from the Iconic-Legendary House Of Miyake-Mugler, Diva Miyake-Mugler (@divamimu), known as London Ballroom’s First Lady and The Queen Of The Oldway Performance. The workshop will include a Q&A session at the end, where you’ll get an insight into ballroom and its origins like never before!
Being one of the first of this generation to help establish and build a ballroom scene in London and bring knowledge to the kids, as well as introducing the Oldway performance to this generation in London. Diva is that maternal figure and gatekeeper for her community and culture.
She is well known for her classique, clean, unbothered and effortless presence and performance and winning several grandprizes around Europe for the Oldway and really knows how to shake up a room. Diva is hugely inspired by the early days and traditions of Ballroom, having a love for the presentation of Pop Dip and Spin and its original Femme Queen Performance; she makes it a duty to carry on the presentation, style and essence of the yester-years whether she is performing or teaching.
