Abstract: Over the last six months, I have been working with Foster+Partners to investigate the feasibility of using uDALES, a building-resolving LES framework with thermal modelling capabilities, in the architectural design process. In this talk I will discuss a methodology for simulating air flow and heat transfer within the built environment for a complete cycle of solar radiation, and compare it with the tools used at the practice. I will also discuss how uDALES might be developed to better meet the needs of research and industry.
