Woman standing next to illustrated heart

Women have been misdiagnosed, wrongly medicated, and underrepresented in medical trials for decades. We would like to raise awareness and highlight sex as an important consideration in all biomedical research areas, in this case particularly cardiovascular diseases.

Join us, the Imperial BHF-DTP students, and a list of outstanding speakers including the Associate Medical Director of the BHF, Dr Sonya Babu-Narayan for our inaugural symposium titled “Mis(s)diagnosed-why sex matters in cardiovascular diseases”. The symposium will finish with food, drinks, and networking.

Speakers

  • Dr Sonya Babu-Narayan; Associate Medical Director for the BHF
  • Dr Sanne Peters; Epidemiologist, Senior Lecturer at the George Institute of Global Health, Imperial College and Associate Professor at UMC Utrecht
  • Dr Tracey Keteepe-Arachi; Cardiologist
  • Prof Ken MacLeod; Professor of Cardiac Physiology at Imperial College
