As a highlight of the Faculty of Medicine’s 25th anniversary celebrations we are delighted to welcome Professor Sir Jonathan Van-Tam—Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Medicine & Health Sciences at the University of Nottingham and former Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) for Health Protection in England—to Imperial College London.
Professor Van-Tam will be speaking to our own Professor Peter Openshaw about his time as DCMO, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We’ll hear about his experience of being an academic working within government; lessons learned from the pandemic; how to communicate science effectively to the public, and more.
