We would like to invite you to join a symposium on “Creating Specialized Regional Service for Extremely preterm infants – Early Intervention and follow up of chronic lung disease”.

Chronic lung disease (CLD) is a well-known serious condition prevalent in extremely preterm infants. Preventative measures are scanty and follow up across the country varies remarkably. Many of these infants are discharged on home oxygen and may end up in PICU due to limited capacity to fight infections. CLD can result in poor respiratory, cardiovascular and neurodevelopmental outcomes. A specialised multi-professional regional targeted service may help improve outcomes in these infants and children. This symposium will aim to delineate the principal issues around CLD and start the dialogue around developing such bespoke service.
